It’s official. I have to eventually graduate now. Getting my class ring was very eye-opening for me. Not only because I am more than halfway done with college, which mean I have to enter the real world soon, but because I realized how lucky I am to be able to get not only 1 but 2 amazing degrees here! For those of you who don’t know I am getting a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. By doing this I will have to take an extra semester to finish all of the credit hours I need. At first this stressed me out tremendously because no one wants to be told they have to stay in school even longer, right? But, I then began think and by being able taking the extra time here at the University of South Carolina is actually a blessing. Being on campus and surrounded by my fellow Gamecocks is one of the many things that make me happy and that’s all I need right now!
Hearing Dr. Pastides talk about being a student and learning opportunities that we have here at Carolina was exactly what I needed. I have been feeling a little unmotivated to do, well, anything really but by hearing what he had to say about being proud of ourselves and what we have accomplished this far really gave me an extra push.
Sharing this movement with my family and my roommate (we have the same last name so we are always next to each other at ceremonies like this) was so incredible. I am so thankful to have such a strong support group around me to motivate and push me to do my best every single day.
